It's been a few rough days for music heroes lately. I just heard Jon Hassell passed away. I guess this is an indication of my own age and a stark reminder of the limited time we have around here and that we better make the most of it for as long as it lasts.
And omg, how hard it is not to be jealous of the fact that Jihel owns a VCS3 or at least has access to one. Nice job! What an excellent piece of musical history you produced there.

John Hassell died? .. I knew about Peter a few days ago .. weirdly i had performed with him in Köln only a few years ago and he seemed amazingly fit and sprightly... so that was a big shock! But i didn’t know about mr Hassell .. this internet thing is all topsy turvy.. or did that just happen today?? all very sad.. maybe we should all purchase Roberts joystick module in tribute to mr Z?

Peter Zinovieff was a Friendly Man and a good Composer. He had a great influence on my abstract electronic music. It's a terrible loss. He had built my EMS system in 1974 (2 racked VCS3 and a central rack -in 1976- with Synthi AKS and a Roland Sequencer).
The Synthi AKS was sold to Pierre Henry. One VCS3 was sold in Japan (don't rememeber the name of the band), and the other to MusicLand, a big synth shop in Paris (now closed). Over time, I regret having sold these synth, but it is difficult to keep everything (money, money...). Now I can easily have a VCS3 when I need it for a project, thanks to a good friend.

that’s fantastic! from Zinovieff via you to Pierre Henry... amazing ... i guess we should also acknowledge here the passing of Manfred Fricke of MFB in the past few days... very sad .. i found out about his stuff a little late .. too late to get a Microzwerg at a decent price but i did get 2 NanoZwergs ... one of which i still have.. a great pre AE tiny synth..
