Lately I've greatly upgrade my little place to make sound, and it now looks quiet awesome and very close to how I like to use my gear. Just waiting for a new case to arrive and it will be set uip for a long time (let's hope)
To describe a bit my set up:
All my outs from the AEM gose into a Beghringer Xenyx 1204x, then to a Scarlett 18i20 and everything is set up within my DAW (Reaper)
My other synths are connected to the Scarlett 18i20 and the Behringer ADA8200
Now the fun part is the hardware effects, I do have a nice Lexicon MX300, an Alesis Microverb 3, an Analog Echo Chamber, and A DBX1231 (I love finding rack unit for cheap on flea market!). everything is set up correctly into the Scarlett 18i20 and a Behringer ADA8200. It tooks me a day to sort ins and outs, but it does work!
In my DAW I can add track with thoses effects and I can then use the AEM with the Echo Chamber or the Lexicon for nice effect. Untill this point everything works perfectly fine.
But now is the little problem I have.
Let's get an exemple, I have a sequence from the AEM I'd like to route to the Lexicon, I set up my routing and I hit record. now I have two tracks, one with the pure AEM sound, without effect, and one with the effect, the only problem is I do have the AEM in the effect aswell.
Instead I'd like to have only the sounbd of the effect without the main sound source. And I don' not know how to do that. I've tried lowering the sound coming in the effect, in the DAW or in the hardware itself, but then the effect isn't played.
If I doo the same process with VST reverb it does work fine and I only have the out of the reverb without the sound of the AEM but not with hardware.
Is there a way to sort that out or i'm just stupid and it works as intended?
