Just placed an order with Mouser (in Texas) for IC chips and it took about nine days to arrive (I'm in New Mexico). Everything was packed really well, and I'll definitely order with them again. Shipping is about $7 at the lowest so it makes sense to order a few things at a time.
The other place I've seen recommended is Digi-key, which also seems good and they are located in Minnesota I believe. I just picked mouser because they were geographically closer and i figured it would get here sooner.

I can also recommend Tayda Electronics. There website is specifically for music-related diy hobbyist, so that makes it easier to find what you're looking for. They have tons of niche stuff at pretty good prices (not AliExpress prices ofc..), they ship fast worldwide and cheap and the stuff is high quality.
Considering AE specific stuff: they have a huuuge range of '9mm plastic Shaft Alpha potentiometers' which are perfect pots for AE. I also love their 1/8W resistors, nice and small for AE builds. Only thing they Often DON'T have in stock that is a bummer for AE, is MCP602 opamps.
For me, they are in a nice sweet spot in between AliExpress & professional websites like Mouser or Farnell
Mouser, to be sure. But also, Allied Electronics ( www.alliedelec.com/ ) carries loads of useful stuff. Then there's these guys: www.allelectronics.com/ All Electronics carries a lot of electronic surplus components, so it's super-useful for prowling around and entertaining divergent ideas. One other big electronics component firms is Newark ( www.newark.com/ )...very much along the same lines as Mouser and Allied, but they sometimes have things that those places don't.
