Someone sell me the Grains module as a concept. I really like the use of it in Max Richardsons excellent video:-
But I'm not an expert on the possible vocabulary of Grains. Is there an extensive library of word libraries? and are there always more coming online?

Too kind! Essentially, there's too many words to choose from! There's a full list in the source code, but there's that many that you can't manually select one with the pot, it's just not possible to achieve that precision.
I love Grains, it's really nice to be able to swap modes whenever I feel like a change. Really brings something new to every jam, I couldn't be without it now!

Thanks Maximillius001. I'm sold. It's definitely a great addition to a rack.

The Grains can do so much more than just the Speak'n Spell. Have a look at the wiki page for all the different firmwares that you can load into this thing! You can also tweak them yourself quite easily. So if you don't want so many words in the Speak firmware, then just go into the editor and remove a few words, or put in your own words, let it talk Klingon if you want. The possibilities are really endless. wiki.aemodular.com/pmwiki.php/AeManual/GRAINSMatthias has created so many amazing firmwares that I've yet to study them in detail to make videos about them, you can download them straight from the Github: github.com/aemodular/GRAINSLately I've been having fun with a new firmware, developed by Kassen Oud, that turns the Grains into a West Coast style complex oscillator which sounds very similar to the Korg Volca Modular! Check it out:
