Would it be possible for AE to use vacuum tube like a tube VCA or something? Would it need it's own power supply?

Funny coincidence... I just played around with tubes; I'm adapting the "magic eye" indicator tubes (available as china kits) as AE module, as a simple level indicator. Not really a practical use, but looks really steampunkey ;-) I learnt a lot, like generating the necessary high voltage... Tube modules will need definitely a separate power supply, I use a 9V socket, same as in the MASTER module (as long as the current sum is not too high, one wall adapter with splitter cable can be used of course). I'm reluctant using the precious regulated 5V for feeding these current hungry tubes! In the near future I will definitely make a tube overdrive module! There are also circuits around who use tubes without the high voltage, seems to be possible too.

These apparently use submini pentodes (sometimes two in one module!) and their current draws are surprisingly low for tube-based circuitry. And, given that there's apparently an ample supply of those pentodes in Russia, they shouldn't be hideously expensive.
And yes, they look super-cool. Erica puts them behind little windows because...well, tubes.

I love what Erica Synths is doing! If I did go Eurorack, I'd be running their Pico 3 hp extensively. Then run everything through one of their tube VCAs or a tube mixer.
