Hi, I'm considering to get an AE synth but I have some questions before diving in. I have a Bastl Kastke and I think there's no problem to patch it to an AE synth directly (same voltage, 0-5V). On the other hand, I'd like to be able to patch my Lorre-Mill Double Knot. It's a banana synth (0-8V, must share ground with other devices). Would it be sufficient and safe to connect the Double Knot ground to the Master 1/0 module GND pin? And would it be ok to just solder a banana jack to one side of an AE modular patchwire and connect them directly from an AE CV out to a Double Knot CV in? In the other direction (Double Knot CV out to AE CV in, I would use the 41/0 module because of the higher voltage from the Double Knot). Thanks for your help, Cheers

You should definitely NOT patch an output from your Banan synth into a patch input on the AE if the voltage could be higher than 5V! There is no over voltage protection and you could damage your AE.
The most secure way to connect AE with other non-5V devices is via the I/O 3.5mm jacks on the Master and 4I/O modules.

There is also a topic in the DIY forum part where a user has converted the complete AE to a banana plug system. Maybe you could find some AE -> Banana connector inspiration there.
But using the I/O is def the safe way to go from DK to AE. Bastl Kastl works perfectly, you just have to connect a 3.5mm Jack so they share ground 😊

I've been using a korg sq1 with my AE system. When running in 2 × 8 mode I connect the clock outs directly to the modules due to having only 2 inputs on the master module which are used for CV. It works perfectly but just checking it's ok to do so. My understanding is clock is 0v to 5v.

Just measured the voltages with a multimeter. Seemed to be around 1.5v on the clock and upto 5v on the CV obviously depending on the octave chosen.
