tried multiple devices from synths to midi controlers does not respond at all
tried setting to omni still no change falling the faq
what am i doing wrong??
lights on the modual dont respond to keys being pushed
i fallowed this guys tutorial
watched serveral other videos nothings helped read the faq nothing
if i plug bus gate even with nothing pluged into themidi the tone changes but stays the same inles i change nobs on the oslator
ive tried all these devices below to try and send a midi signal
matriixbrute
roland botqiues with km25
sh201
keylab 25 mk1 midi controllor
korg sq1

Hi 1ajs, and welcome to our forum! first question: are you using the MIDI adapter that has been delivered with the AE system? If not, you might be using the wrong adapter as there are two "standards". to be honst i have no idea if i have the right one how do i tell? igot the unit second hand Ok, I see that you also have a Korg SQ-1 which also comes with a MIDI-TRS adapter and Korg also uses type 'B' (edited later: Korg uses Type A). Try using this adapter and see if it works. |

not seeing any change tried several different midi cables as well Ok, sorry to ask a few obvious questions, just trying to rule out the basics while we trouble shoot what's going on: 1. is your AE Modular powered on? 2. Can you produce a sound by just simply connecting an output of an OSC to the AUDIO1 input on the master module and then connecting a TRS audio cable from the AUDIO 1 jack to your mixer/audio interface? 3. Can you connect the MIDI cable to your SQ1 like so: Master TRS MIDI <- MIDI-TRS Adapter <- MIDI 5-Pin cable -> Korg SQ-1 MIDI-TRS Adapter -> SQ-1 MIDI out 4. Hit the "Start" or Play button on the SQ-1 5. Change the MIDI Channel on the Master module to "Omni" 6. You should see CLK LED flashing very fast and the GATE LED flashing in time with the sequence Does all of the above work? If not, please take a photo or make a short video where you show your setup. |

not seeing any change tried several different midi cables as well I'm so sorry, I just realised that I got it mixed up! Korg uses Type A and not B, so that wouldn't have worked! It's really confusing with these different types. |

1 yes its powred on
2 yes i get tone outa osc into aduio out
when i plug into bus gate changes the way it sounds but does't respond to midi
3 nd 4 well tried that didnt work befor
5 i tried that omi tting read the faq
6 nevver seen it blink

prolly have to order one
im 1200kms away from the nearest store that would sell anything like that in north central canada aka northern Manitoba

As I often use a Keystep32 with the AEM but also with a Korg Volca Keys, I got used to changing the MIDI output channel (Korg Volca is channel 10, the AEM likes channel 1). Maybe try changing the MIDI out channel on the MIDI source you're using? Sorry if it's too obvious and you've tried it. But on several occasions I've spent a good 20-30 minutes "troubleshooting" before I remembered to change channels on the Keystep.... |

yea tried that across multipe devices but txs for the suggestion its prolly i go the wrong cable for inputting midi im guna order lie suggested above and report back when it comes
but yea orderd some modulas i wanted along with it so prolly be a month depending how backloged tangible is
