Does anyone know what modular and synth events are scheduled in Australia for 2020?

Ha! I've just written to you in a PM about this ... There are few events that I know of: 1. there is a monthly meeting in Sydney called EMOM .. Electronic Music Open Mike .. which is an open stage for anyone who wants to perform. Although I haven't made it up there personally yet, I know a few people who have been active in the organising of it and have performed there. It's supposedly very relaxed and good fun. www.facebook.com/EMOMSydney/2. there is a fairly stable synth club in Wollongong that manages one open air live open stage once a year called "Modular in the Car Park". I know the organisers and have performed there end of last year. It's heaps of fun! Gareth from Oscillosaurus is also there. 3. I have been co-organising the very first Synthesizer meetup and live concert in the Begavalley on the Far South Coast of NSW: Synthsurfers and Oscillations ... it was a total blast and we are definitely going to do this again this year, most likely in November. 4. Down in Victoria there is the Resonant group that are organising a few meetups throughout the year in partnership with various music retailers, eg. Billy Hyde. They had a big Superbooth event two years ago and I hope they are going to have one this year ... I would definitely go to that! www.facebook.com/resonantmodular/I don't think there's anything going on in ACT .. I met a guy at Bettermusic who is the admin of the ACT Synth Facebook page, but he said that there's nothing going on up there. I haven't heard anything from SA, QLD, NT or WA. Good to sign up for Aussie Wigglers on Facebook www.facebook.com/groups/aussiewigglers/ and they also have an online forum, however I'm not going there much as I'm rather putting my energy into the AE Forum Hope that helps, and maybe I'll see you around sometime at one of our events!

VICMOD do monthly(ish) meetings in Melbourne, too. I've never been so can't speak to how they run, but they keep happening so obviously they're doing something right.

In Melbourne, there is also MESS, a cooperative with various levels of membership. They run events and workshops but the jewel in the crown is an extraordinary collection of rare and wondrous synthesisers that only members get to play with. I have never been there (I'm in Sydney) but I think you can rent time with various gear and studios etc.
Also, Clan Analog in Sydney seem to be rising from the ashes. They were alive and great fun in the '90s. I think this is their website www.clananalogue.org.
Clan seem to have a Melborne group as well.
I am thinking I might join, if they look like fun.
There are a few festivals of contemporary and experimental music, often with an electronic emphasis. The Now Now festival in Sydney is great but I have not seen info about the 2020 one.
I'll try and get more observant and post things that I find.
chmeee5 and bearheadwood please let us know of cool stuff in Victoria. I am hoping to come down to visit people soon-ish and I would love to do a gig somewhere while I'm in Melbourne.
Rod.

Yeah, MESS is a must-see if you're heading to Melbourne, it's always nice to see a CS-80, a Synthi or two, system 55 and a DX1 in a 360 spin, ha. It's worth your time heading there with a plan of what you want to do, and bring stuff to record with. I'm only starting to look for gigs myself rodney, maybe try the LEMOM facebook group if you're out for gigs.
