Here is my problem:
I have recently got a Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 as Audio Interface to hook up all my synth, including the AEM. I like to have them all at same time in my DAW so I needed a lot of inputs.
I also have a TR8S as drum machine.
If i plug the mix out of the TR8S to the Audio Interface everything is fine, it all works without any noticable latency. But I do not have the multitrack of the TR8S, only the inputs of the 18i20 But if I do plug the TR8S to my computer via USB I can have the multitrack but I cannot choose both the Audio Interface and the TR8S in my DAW (Reaper). I've managed to use ASIO4ALL as driver and then I can have both as inputs, but in this case whatever is plug to the Audio Interface has a latency and it's a pain in the ass to play anything correclty. On the other hand, the TR8S has no latency at all.
Is there a way to have both connected at same time and use the multitracking of both the TR8S and the Audio Interface without any latency? I'm on this matter since this monring and I can't find anything to reduce the latency while having them both pluged in as USB.

OK, whilst multiple audio interfaces are quite possible in Reaper, it can provide quite the headache.
I've used ReaRoute (which is itself an ASIO driver included with Reaper) to get me out of problems as this does the routing internally - last time I looked, using something like VOICEMEETER Virtual Audio Mixer was a way of gathering together all of the virtual inputs, mixing them and then routing that mix to Reaper internally, via ReaRoute. I've mainly used ReaRoute for stand-alone software synths and it works well.
"When you've finished using ReaRoute, it's a good idea to set the audio device in your non‑Reaper applications back to their default settings, as you may experience some unexpected behaviour if you open a ReaRouted program without opening Reaper. ReaRoute is not meant as a replacement for your normal ASIO driver, but works perfectly as a virtual patchbay for real‑time audio streaming, so you can quickly get audio where you need it to go."
To be honest, I would just feed the eight analogue outputs of the TR8S into the Focusrite and do it that way, I know it's an extra conversion, but it will work and it will give you the control that you desire, and with the guaranteed single reported latency - I honestly doubt that you'll notice any quality change if you're careful with levels.
I would certainly always use the Focusrite drivers (where available) over ASIO4ALL. I have a smaller Focusrite and the performance and stability (including latency) is much better with their drivers. You're likely to be struggling with latencies for a long time, in my opinion, if you try to do everything via individual USB inputs. You can also capture a TR8S performance using its own USB drivers if you want, just switch in Reaper when you plug it in.
I've been using a Focusrite audio interface with Reaper for a while and keeping it simple is the way ahead. One of my bandmates uses the 18i20 with Reaper and achieves excellent results by just feeding all of his analogue outputs (some sub-mixed) in and recording that way.

I was pretty sure you would have answers to my question, as always spacedog i will check this ReRout thing and see what i can do with it. But as you mention the Focusrite is a good Audio Interface and the drivers are better than the ASIO4ALL, from what I can tell.
Feeding the out of the TR8S into the Focusrite was indeed an option but it will use all the available inputs, that said if no synths are plugged in. But I guess I don't need to have all the instruments of the TR8S as separate track in Reaper. For now I think of mostly tweeking the kick with some VST.
The other solution would be to add another in/out thingy with ADAT if I it do what I think it do: connecting two interface together one as slave the other as master to extant the number of In and Outs.
As you said, it is always possible to sitch from the Focusrit to the TR8S, and it seems to be the best option aivailable. I haven't tried that much, but I think last time I've tried with the TR8S via USB and its own drivers I could'nt hear a thing, will have to check again.
Anyhow, thank you again for your precious help!
