Hello togehter,
I played the whole morning with my AE and found some Female headers (Stiftbuchsen) with very bad conenctions.
I read some comments, that these connectors will be replaces in the future. Are there any details on that?
Replacing the old ones could be quite a challange (but possible).

yeah, all new modules seem to have the newer headers which have a metal insert these look like they will have a more positive contact - though in fairness Ive not had an issue with the plastic ones. id also guess they might be more durable. robertlanger said these were a custom order in the august blog thread Replacing the old ones could be quite a challange (but possible) actually i think if you are ok at desoldering/soldering, I think it would be pretty straight forward - though time-consuming to do for lots of modules. robertlanger - could you sell these to interested owners ? Id be very interested in buying a whole stack of them (if you have limited stock, perhaps you could add an extra 75 for me to your next order ) (that said, Ive think ive been using 75mm for my modules so far - but now would be a good time, since I only have 3 left for future modules!)

Yes, the female sockets are now replaced by ones with higher quality in the series production. As workaround you can try the following: Bend the pin of the patchwires slightly so it is not straight but a bit bowed; this might help that they sit better in the socket. If this doesn't help please contact me directly.
@technobear: Of course you can get them separately.

God, I need them. I thought it's just the way it has to be - that there's no way around loose connections, cables plugging out on themselves, some connections not working without tinkering a lot with the cable inside.
It's uplifting and depressing at the same time: it's great that there's a way to improve that, but not so great knowing my system won't have these without a lot of time/money investement. I'd gladly pay premium/wait longer to get them.

A, the good "Präsizionsbuchsen" I used them a lot in my other DIY synths.
Ok. I will check the modules and replace them one by one. Especially the power module have very bad connections.
Looking forward to the new ordnerd modules

these are not the correct height, this was discussed in the previous thread the ones you link to are 7mm, whereas robertlanger is using 10mm Robert, I'll send you an email

Do you have to use round patchwires for these new sockets? I noticed that most "cheap" patch wires are square. my square ones work, though the round ones feel better - I guess theoretically they will have better contact as the surface area is larger, but I'm not sure it will make any practical difference. I just got some new ones from AE, as I've had varied experience with some cheaper patch cables - they fall apart
