Thanks.Yes, I had already been looking at that pedal, very interesting. Sadly, I have way too many pedals, but that does mean that I can get some interesting sounds out of the AE Modular. Fortunately, I have strategies for keeping my GAS under control

Fortunately, I have strategies for keeping my GAS under control indeedy! I too, have been wiping a slight amount of drool off my ipad screen whilst watching demo’s of this pedal.. there is not so much tech that appeals to my perversities these days ( AE module family offspring satisfying most urges ) but this one seems like the nicest ( and smallest ) interesting granular thing for a long time.. that said, the £350 price point is way above even xmas/birthday self-gifting for me.. £150 to £200 would perhaps get me snapping it up? with Robert promising more Mutable module ports to AE in the future I think £350 will go a LOOOOOOONNNGGGG way towards making these kinds of sounds and beyond soonish on our rigs... 5v cv though! very interesting.. What exactly are yr Zen-like strategies to combat G.A.S.? .. i might require yr expert councilling!

What exactly are yr Zen-like strategies to combat G.A.S.? .. i might require yr expert councilling! I totally agree on the price point. Whilst it's a bit different, if it was priced at about the same as a Bastl Microgranny, then it would be already be existing in the VLEA (Very Large Effects Array) in my little studio. I do think hard about musical punch for my hard-earned pound (as does everyone, I'm sure). There are so many thing competing for those pounds I do think very hard - which says something about the fact that I'm planning a second upgrade to my AE Modular setup. Some strategies include the following:- Buying an Axolti not long ago that I am hoping to spend some time with soon. That has promise for enabling me to try a few weird and wonderful ideas for an incredible price point and with excellent sound quality.
- Also, a while back, I created a virtual Klein Bottle using effects routing in my DAW. That really satisfied my yearning for kit for a while. Here's a link to the post
- I have a few (well a lot really) 19" rack patchbays and I think I could rig something up with those and a mixer to use real pedals.
- Lastly, envisioning a future where I am completely surrounded by equipment still in boxes - rather like Pink in Pink Floyd's The Wall... then I need to tear down The Wall, amid great gnashing and wailing and theatrics
Probably the last is the most helpful I'm always here to help... As an aside, and talking of GAS, I had a gas engineer here this morning and we were both heads down at our various things quietly in the same room (me pretending to be working and him actually working fixing my boiler) when he exclaimed that I should not be worried if I smelled anything as he had just had a " controlled release of gas". I couldn't leave it and said that it was indeed better than blaming the dog, which was the usual trick. That broke the ice.

That broke the ice. the revenge of KROG!!! .. maybe it could also stand for ‘Kommunity Retardation Of Gas’ ,, a self help group where we all admit our credit card sins and are assigned a ‘buddy’ to guide us into ‘the black’ financially! i can see that you would be an inappropriate ‘buddy’ for me... more of an Enabler in fact never seen that Klein Bottle thing before, looks fab... but I have been trying to find a decent circuit for a passive matrix mixer ... but as tiny as humanly possible.. meantime this new Klevgränd Modley au and some mad routing in Apematrix gets me away from ebay nicely.. thank heavens for ios and its pocket money pricing! ( though all these fabfilter ports are enticing and NOT pocket money level.. ) point iv. was helpful in a way... the thought of turning into Roger Waters is definitely ‘prophylactic! wouldn’t want to suffer a Nick Cave Kneejerk reaction on that front though.. plus I handed over a nice wedge of Euro’s to Robert at Superbooth for some of the new modules so anticipation is at fever pitch there..
