I am a big fan of the cross mod and hard sync sounds (cross mod in particular). Is it possible to perform these in the AE world? How would I go about doing them?

What do you mean with Cross mod ?
I have done a lot of patches with two or more oscillators modulating each others frequency (FM i guess :-)).
I just take for instance SQR out of osc1 to CV in on osc2 and vice versa.
You can also do it with more than two oscillators, like osc1 -> osc2 -> osc3 -> osc1
I have also done it with diffrent oscillators i.e. VCO and 2OSC/D
I find that the VCO modules are better for this than 2OSC/D
There should be no risk of damaging the modules, if there were mine would be bricks by now :-) You can even take Audio from a mixer and use to modulate the oscillators.

If you have the original AE 2OSC, 2OSC/D module(s), or the VCO module oscillator sync is available. Just need 2 in the latter's case.... worth experimenting around when to trigger sync as usually you would use the Audio from 1 Oscillator to sync the other; it is much easier to manage however, by externally (to the module)triggering both oscillators. I find a slight offset of the trigger is best musically but depends exactly what you are after....
Cross modulation you have a good reply from MikMo, the only thing I would add is that an attenuator is vital, e.g. 2CVTOOL or using a mixer to manage/combine CVs - I really like the Wonkystuff MM33 for CV mixing as you have 3 inputs you can send to 3 different outputs in any quantity. I also use the 4ATT/MIX, the 2ATT/CV or the Polamix. The latter is excellent as you can set an offset (great for adjusting the "centre" of a sound, like Pulse width modulation), and then use the knobs to control the amount of modulation/change.
Just to encourage you to spend more money, the SLEW/EDGE module would be worth considering - slew (controlling the rate of change) can be really effective on a lot of pitch/oscillator modulation amongst (many) other uses.
The last thing I's say is just dive in and experiment! I only knew the very basics of synthesis when I bought my first synth, and learnt as I played - much more fun,

I concur with what's been said so far. You cannot break the system by patching it so experiment to your hearts content.

Thanks party people. Another question. What is the best way to split an audio signal and feed two of the same osc signal to two different filters? Do the multi carry extra audio signals? I’m thinking they do but I’m not sure.

I’m thinking they do but I’m not sure. Just in case you haven't realised, most of the AE oscillators have multiple outs; e.g the 2OSC/D has 2 sawtooth outs for each oscillator, and the VCO has 2 outputs for each waveform, A mult will do the job fine, as per admin, another option is the MM33 matrix mixer as 1 in can go to up to 3 outs,
If you can't tell I am a big fian of the MM33, and I nearly didn't buy one!
