I can patch an external clock pulse sent in via CRTL1 I/O on the master module and I patch the CTRL1 into the B.CLOCK patch point. On my SEQ8 module I can now patch the B.CLK to CLK input and I have a SEQ8 that stops and starts automatically whenever I start/stop my eternal gear sending in the clock pulse.
However, when I try to do a similar thing whereby I patch the square wave output of and lfo into the B.CLOCK of the mastermodule then the SEQ8 module does not receive that pulse. What am I not understanding?

Ok I did some checks with the meter module and it seems like the signal coming out of the LFO module is seriously attenuated once you send it into the B.CLOCK of the master module and check the level of the signal coming out of the B.CLK on the SEQ8. The signal is actually so much attenuated that the SEQ8 does not recognize it any longer as a clock pulse.

The Bus CLK line is hard wired to the MIDI clock from the MASTER module; it's not intended to feed own signals into it. If you do, you override the existing signal somehow (or better: they fight against each other), but this is definitely not reliable. This brings up the point that it would be desirable to disconnect the bus lines from the MASTER to use them for own purposes; in another context I came across this question a short while ago. Might be a feature for a next revision of the MASTER module!

Thank you for your explanation. That would definitely be a useful revision. For the moment being I'll avoid the bus to route my clock pulses through, or go the midi route to send clock pulses into the AEM.

pol can we add this information to the MASTER module wiki about not using the bus lines for routing other signals than the ones coming from MIDI input?

I get around this by using the Gate out instead of clock of the external gear into the Master Ctl1 I/O or via the 4I/O directly into the Clk input of the sequencer which stops/starts when playing external gear.

We just should leave the bus patchpoints to the midi interface and consider those only as output not as input. However nothing stops you from sending in clocks or gates via the master module or the 4I/O module. Using gates to turn on and off the output of the SEQ modules via a VCA could also be interesting for example for rhythmical subdivisions coming from your SEQ module. I will definitely experiment with this.

running 2 gates through Logic then into 2 separate sequencers is fun too, experimented with this for todays jam.
