As mentioned elsewhere the Wiki is now essentially complete, although updating will always be required and more patch suggestions are always welcome. During my editing work I realised how much the 4 I/O module came up. Yes there are 2 I/O channels on the Master and Power modules, but they can be soon taken up with CVs/Triggers etc, and if you want a stereo out from the AE you have nothing but midi available to provide CVs etc. into the AE.
A small but major benefit for me is that the 4 I/O can be sited away from the main patching area, so I have it permanently connected to my 19" patchbay normalised to 2 inputs on the mixer. Its cabling doesn't get in the way and is easy just to connect up to the MultiFX module next to it which is (usually) how my AE ends up in stereo. I still have 4 possible connections (2 on the 4 I/O and 2 on my Master module) for external gear still,
The 4 I/O just gives complete piece of mind regarding connecting external gear, which is great for a non-techie like me. Been great fun just trying stuff and, yes, that includes hooking up Volcas without the help of the VM Bridge module!
