Hellooo! Hope you're all good folks. This is a question I've been meaning to ask since I very first got my system - how exactly does the power capacity work?
My 2 X 2x16 system is currently very nearly full, and I'm looking into getting a third 2x16 case once I've got a bit more cash to hand! I was just wondering about the power capacity listed on the grid. Is it advisable to leave an amount of headroom before hitting the capacity, in the event of surges and things? Or can the case handle the full 800mA? Thanks! 👍

I have powered two 2*16 cases (both totally full with even a led on the usb module) without problems even with a battery like the Harley Benton.

It’s definitely advisable to leave some headroom. How much exactly I never knew, but I went with 10-15% in the past and never had problems.
You could also buy a new 9V PSU with more than 800mA. Even 2000mA ones are not expensive and easy to find. I’m not sure if the internal power converter in the MASTER module has an upper limit though. But probably not in the ranges we work it in.

Ever since getting my 4th row, I've been powering my 4x16 rack from the wall adapter without any problem (and without thinking about mA). I don't know if this is a good idea, but the modules feel fine. I haven't tried powering it from my Harley Burton battery, though...

I'm really happy to see what a power saver AE is... <3 Yes, powering a 3rd row should be no problem in most cases. Only with a number of more power hungry modules like CIRRUS, MULTIFX, WAVETABLES it should be checked more carefully.

Seems like I should check this...
