Having recently updated the Wiki page on this module, it made me want to go fiddle with it as I had actually forgotten it had 4 tracks in the sequencer! A few things occurred which I thought may be worth sharing:- It can be, in effect, a divider, as there is one master clock and 4 tracks you can pretty much do want you want with up to 16 steps long; this will be the base of a few AE only pieces going forward I think.... 1 track do a "pulse" (maybe Kick drum), one triggering a seq16 module and the other 2 could be anything! Just in case you don't know this trick; use a sequencer trigger to an Envelope module and you have some sort of controllable LFO - I spend quite a bit of time messing with this, Another thing I enjoy fiddling with is using the actual trigger pulse as a CV, through an attenuator like the 2ATT/CV or Polamix - only just got the latter module and mixing the trigger with other CVs is a whole other level of fun, A trick you can do with most of the AE sequencers is using the individual step outs, again really need an attenuator; they can be accents on a beat, open or close the filter on that step, trigger an envelope to do that more slowly and so on. Anyway, suffice to say I'm really gonna spend a lot more time with my AE in the future, and hopefully some bits will become actual pieces of music....

It does clock multiplication pretty well too.

It's also fun with a really fast clock input, for audio filtering and generation.
With an audio-rate clock input, it becomes an audio filter/effecter. The example below sounds like a crunchy digital-ish waveshaper.
Waveshaper example (tested): VCO --> TRIQ164 CLK TRIQ164 OUT (any) --> ENV/ADSR GATE ENV/ADSR OUT --> really crunchy audio Selecting every step will preserve the pitch. Selecting every odd step will shift the pitch down one octave. Selecting weird sequences is how this gets fun - I'm a fan of [1,2,3,5,6,9,10,11,13,14].
With a super-audio-rate clock input, I think it could become an audio generator like a wavetable. The idea is that it could control the steps/slices of a waveform, like any super-audio-rate-clocked sequencer like SEQ8 or SEQ16, except the TRIQ164 would need to be complemented by something like a PCM DAC. Maybe convert the pulses to gates (with a module like 2S&H) and add output smoothing (with a module like SLEW, which I don't have, if it can effectively slew PCM)? Is there anything in AEM that outputs a >20kHz frequency for the super-audio-rate clock source? If the sequence is too short, it could be chained with other channels via a switch like 3VCSWITCH.
Wavetable idea: >20kHz frequency --> TRIQ164 CLK (Sequence 1 has all steps selected) TRIQ164 OUT 1 --> 2S&H TRIG 1 (Sequence 2 & 3 are the custom PCM wavetable) TRIQ164 OUT 2 --> 3VCSWITCH 1A TRIQ164 OUT 3 --> 3VCSWITCH 1B (Sequence 4 has only one step selected) TRIQ164 OUT 4 --> MM-DIV CLK (MM-DIV is on BINARY mode) MM-DIV 1--> 3VCSWITCH GATE 3VCSWITCH IO1 --> 2S&H IN 1 2S&H OUT 1 --> SLEW input SLEW output --> I really want to hear what this sounds like...

Just in case you don't know this trick; use a sequencer trigger to an Envelope module and you have some sort of controllable LFO - I spend quite a bit of time messing with this, Or connect the end trigger on the 2ENV to it own gate and the 2ENV turns into an lfo with a possibility to range from left saw toot to right sawtooth and all possible triangle variations in between without even the need of a sequencer.

That is a good one too, already on the Wiki page! The advantage of the sequencer one is it is in sync with the rest of the noises,

This thread has opened some things up for me as far as experimenting. I started a patch using an example of most of the above and it's cool to see all of the lights on the triq,seq16/8,Envs, 2att working together even before any sound is heard.
Normally I head straight for a sound source I want to work with and then hook up the seq and triggers etc so it was fresh to do a patch with just the trig patterns in mind.
That 2att tip is really cool too.
