So, you know that high-pitched digital whine you get from the drumkit01 module when the tuning knob isn't quite in a stable place? Turns out if you run that through a filter and modulate it (with a wonkystuff rbss in this case) you get cool tones and noises. soundcloud.com/solipsistnation/digital-garbage-noise2 lfos out of sync through an AND gate for clock, triggering some envelopes and driving a triq164 for various stuff, mixed through the DRONX mixer with some spring reverb and the inevitable delays. solina chords, sawvox tones, lfos all over the place, noise through filters. this was an attempt to do something different from my usual patching. one day I'll figure out how to do actual ambient tracks, but this is a start.

Really enjoyed this, lots of cool tones and unexpected turns. Look forward to hearing more of your unusual matchings.

Cosign. That was an interesting piece. This is where the attraction in modular is for me, anything goes, if it sounds good it's good. Anything can be turned into audio if it modulates fast enough. Even the seq8 module can become an oscillator just make sure to trigger it really fast.

I don't think this needs its own post, but I got my old Electrix vocoder working, more or less. There are some timing glitches and weird level spikes, but the overall idea here is good:
