I know that it can be really frustrating to have to wait for so long. But please remember that you are buying a "boutique" instrument which is assembled in Bavaria in Robert's little studio mostly by Robert himself and lately with the help of one part time employee (Antonia, who you may have seen on one of the latest blog posts). I got a small glimpse of the order volume when I asked Robert about this and there are hundreds of orders in the pipeline.
Robert is certainly doing all he can to improve the situation and Antonia has picked up the production process really well, but it's not so straightforward to just add more staff .. then you have to look at your profit margins again and maybe rent larger premises, etc, etc.
So I'm sure he'll figure all this out eventually, but for now it is what it is. I know that Robert has no issues whatsoever to answer any inquiries that you send to his email, it's just that if there are too many they may get lost sometime in the deluge, so maybe just try again another time.
So although it's frustrating to wait, please do be patient, this is a small two person company you are dealing with, not Behringer or Yamaha.
I think the headscratching is due more to the lack of information than the actual waiting time. Maybe it could be made much more explicit that a waiting time of around 3 months is expected and to not worry before that, both in the checkout process and in the confirmation email.

I think its great that their is a healthy demand for AE systems and modules, and for boutiques instruments there is always a wait.. and with AE it definitely worth the wait
Whilst there is a backlog, perhaps robertlanger could find a way to put out a little more info, perhaps once a month?
my fear is I know Ive hesitated ordering (Ive been thinking about an order for quite a few months now), its not because I care about the lead time... I'm happy to wait, but, rather, because new modules are being announced... so i keep thinking, well if I'm going to wait 3 months, why not wait for the backlog to reduce and see what else is becomes available!
one thing that is really unclear to me (esp. reading posts the forum) - are all orders having the same/similar wait time? single module and complete systems? - is it particular modules more delayed? recent ones?, or due component issues? or assembly time?
e.g. I already asked, if i just want some new cables - is there a lead time of 3 months?
I think a couple of pieces of information per month would be useful (to different people)
a) current lead time for complete systems - useful for those wanting to join the AE club b) current lead time for more recent modules - existing AE users are likely to want the newer modules c) module that have known delays ? e.g. component issues or awaiting revised design, or whatever
don't get me wrong, I can see its totally not worth a full order tracking system, but i think once a month, a quick statement covering the above, might mean less emails for Robert to answer. (disclaimers of course accepted, that lead times etc can change due to unforeseen circumstances)
as i said, Im personally really happy to hear that Robert and team are busy... Id be more concerning if they weren't.
(now... should i get that order in before the rush of Superbooth !)
